"The sale didn’t really feel like a sale"
I was expecting better discounts, but most of the sale prices barely looked marked down. When I questioned it, it kind of felt like they made it my problem for expecting more, which was frustrating.

"Expected clearer guidance from the staff"
I had a few basic questions about scuba gear during my visit, but the answers I got felt a bit uncertain. I was hoping for clearer instructions and more confident guidance, especially since it’s gear-related. I ended up double-checking the information myself afterward. "Sizing was way off and I had to chase them"
The size I ordered didn’t fit anything like expected, it was way off. I tried getting it sorted, but I ended up having to chase them for a response, which made the whole thing more frustrating than it needed to be.

"Had to switch a few things because of stock"
The site was easy to use, but some of the stuff I wanted was out of stock. Because of that, I had to change my order a bit and pick a few different items. I still found some things I liked, so it wasn’t a bad experience overall. I just wish the stock info was updated better

"Delivery was definitely late again"
My delivery was late again, and I’m honestly 100% sure this is becoming a pattern. I kept waiting for a clear update, but there was basically nothing helpful from them. Super frustrating experience.

"Decent product, but the exchange was frustrating"
The item itself was fine, and I appreciated that customer service eventually helped me out, but the exchange process was more of a hassle than I expected. It took longer than it should have, and I had to follow up a few times, which was annoying.

"Bad rental gear experience"
I had a frustrating experience with the rental gear. The wetsuit smelled really bad, and the regulator didn’t feel very reassuring at all. When I tried to bring it up, I felt like I was just being passed around from one person to another instead of anyone actually helping. Not the kind of experience you want before getting in the water.

"Packaging was really bad"
The box showed up completely crushed, and the packaging was just not good. It felt really weak, like there wasn’t enough protection at all. The box was damaged, the packing was flimsy, and it just seemed poorly packed overall

"I was shopping around for some scuba..."
I was shopping around for some scuba gear and decided to check House of Scuba first, but the prices felt high to me right away.

When I compared the same items on other dive sites, I kept finding better prices, and in a few cases Amazon was cheaper too. Shipping didn’t really make the overall cost any better either.

Maybe they carry decent gear, but from my point of view, the pricing just didn’t make sense. I felt like I wasted time comparing there, so it’s a 1-star experience for me.

"Paid but never got a real confirmation"
I placed my order and paid, but I never got a proper confirmation email from you guys. I was left sitting there wondering if the order even went through, which is frustrating. That’s something your system should handle better, because it doesn’t leave customers feeling very confident

"Selection was limited"
I was expecting a bit more from their scuba gear selection, especially since I wasn’t looking for anything super unusual. I don’t think I was being too picky, but the options felt limited right away.
A bunch of the items I clicked on were either out of stock or only available in odd sizes and colors. Some sections looked almost empty, which made it hard to feel like I had much of a real choice.
If you just need something basic, it might still be fine. In my case, I couldn’t find what I needed, so I ended up checking other sites instead

"Shipping took way longer than I expected"
I ordered from houseofscuba.com because I figured the gear would get moving quickly, or at least I’d get some kind of clear update within a day or two. Instead, it just kind of sat there for several days with no real information, which made the whole thing feel a lot more uncertain than it needed to be. When the tracking finally did show up, it was already later than I expected, and even then it barely seemed to move for a while.
I had been hoping to have the gear before an upcoming trip, so the delays were frustrating and stressful. The actual products might be totally fine, and I’m not necessarily saying anything bad about the gear itself, but the shipping experience really left a bad impression. After waiting around with so little communication, I’m not sure I’d be eager to order from them again unless I had plenty of extra time to spare.

"Return process was such a hassle"
I tried to return some gear and it turned into way more hassle than it should’ve been. I had to chase them just to get any kind of response, and even then it felt like I was being ignored. In the end, I was still stuck paying for the shipping, which was really frustrating.

"Got the wrong item and had to deal with the hassle"
I ordered fins and somehow received a mask instead. It wasn’t even close to what I bought. Now I have to go through the whole return or exchange process, which is just extra effort I really didn’t want to deal with.

"Something Felt Off During My Visit"
I stopped by to pick up some gear, but the whole visit just felt a little off. I wasn’t really acknowledged, and when I asked a couple of questions, the staff seemed kind of annoyed that I was even asking. It made me feel uncomfortable, so I ended up leaving without buying anything.

"Pretty decent overall, with a small caveat"
I ordered a mask and fins from houseofscuba.com, and overall they were decent for the price. To be fair, the fins seemed fine and the order was okay, but the mask felt a little flimsier than I expected. It’s not a bad purchase, I just thought the quality would be slightly better.

"Felt Like a So-So Deal in the End"
I found a few decent prices on some scuba gear, but once shipping was added, it didn’t really feel like much of a deal anymore. The order itself was fine, nothing terrible happened, but I felt kind of stupid for trusting that the prices were as good as they looked at first. Overall, it was just an average value for me
